MAINLAND POULTRY
POULTRY REARING AND EGG LAYING FARM
AROHENA, WAIKATO
Mainland Poultry have developed a state of the art egg laying farm based in the Waikato to cater for New Zealand’s ever growing demand for ethical, high quality free range eggs.
The project comprises 2 stages with stage 1 complete and stage 2 nearing completion. Quality assurance standards, including bio security provisions were paramount, as was the importance of maintaining safe and healthy worksite. The project is managed extremely tightly in terms of programme, as completion dates cannot be adjusted due to the need to provide housing for birds that are ordered many months in advance. The farm has the latest temperature control technology and nesting systems available globally and is a flag ship for the egg laying industry in New Zealand.
The new facility consists of:
- 4 rearing buildings and amenities building (3600sqm)
- 6 egg laying buildings (27,000sqm)
- Egg packing and amenity buildings (1200sqm)
- Extensive access network
- Wastewater disposal system
- Truck wash
